CREATIVITY AS A PATHWAY TO

Community development

Build creative opportunities with communities, not only for them.

Our Vision

THE OPPORTUNITY

Build creative opportunities with communities, not only for them.

Shared spaces, local leadership and inclusive participation can help creative activity become a sustained community resource. A hub needs a practical operating plan as well as an inspiring launch.

01

Listen and map local assets

Ask residents, makers, young people and community organisations what already works and what is missing. Identify existing spaces, skills and networks before introducing a new programme.

02

Share responsibilities

Agree access, safeguarding, maintenance and decision-making arrangements. Make space for women, young people and people with disabilities to shape priorities.

03

Keep the model sustainable

Plan staffing, equipment care and ongoing costs. Review participation and feedback regularly, and make the benefits and responsibilities visible to contributors.

CREATIVE MERCHANDISE
